The much-anticipated sequel to ‘KONY 2012’, ‘KONY 2012: Part II – Beyond Famous,’ has finally been released.  The new film is a response to the criticism that Invisible Children received for their first film and goes into much more depth about the history of Joseph Kony and the LRA, and provides some insight from Ugandans that actually experienced the wrath of Kony and the LRA.

The film’s voiceover explains, “One month [after KONY 2012] we are releasing this film to explain the creation of the campaign, the progress that’s already been made and what we can all do now to support the ongoing efforts to stop the violence of the LRA.”

In the new film, Invisible Children responds to critics who have said that Kony is no longer an issue because he and the LRA are out of Uganda.  “When we made our eleventh film, KONY 2012, the LRA was committing atrocities in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic and South Sudan and they still are.  The goal of KONY 2012 is to make that known and rally the world in support of the effort to finally stop the LRA violence. That started with making Kony famous, and you did that.  We’ve hardly been able to keep up.”

Thanks to the efforts of KONY 2012 so far, the support and accountability for stopping the violence is at an all time high and the new film goes into more detail about what you can do to help.
