Kindle for iPad: A Closer Look

We gave you a quick peek at the Kindle App for iPad on Saturday, but we wanted to come back to it and look closer. It's very cool, and a smart move and Amazon's part: iPad and its successors may well be the future of the Kindle platform, which may live a long life, though not necessarily on hardware made by Amazon. In this video, we spend a bit more time with the app and show you some of the fun things Amazon put into it, including page-turning animation similar to what Apple has in iBooks. Amazon officially unveiled the app on Saturday (iPadurday) with a press release, an obvious bid to get something in the weekend media cycle amidst all the Apple news.
