Kardashian Kard KO’d

We promise, we’ll try to make this our last Kim Kardashian-related post for the week, but now we see why she’s so darn popular on the Bing. The Kardashians know how to keep your attention.

Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney have cut ties with the Kardashian Kard, a prepaid debit card that featured the sisters’ faces. Turns out the cards have high fees that Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal called “predatory.” The cards target the younger demographic, which makes up a large part of the Kardashian fan base.

PopEater quotes a letter from Dennis Roach, spokesperson for the sisters: “The Kardashians have worked extremely long and hard to create a positive public persona that appeals to everyone, particularly young adults. Unfortunately, the negative spotlight turned on the Kardashians.”

The cards went on sale on November 10. University National Bank has stopped selling them and says they’ll refund customers.

Separately, Business Insider has done a video interview with Kim Kardashian where she talks about her love of Twitter and why she’s giving it up for World AIDS Day. The sisters also have a book, but we won’t get into that.
