Just As We Complimented Jessica Alba’s Honest Company, People Start Complaining

Lots of folks are taking to social media to complain about getting burned despite being slathered with the company's sunscreen.

Yesterday, we praised Jessica Alba’s The Honest Company for simply being a company that sells product rather than trying to be a “lifestyle” brand for the actress. Today, we have backlash against those very products, specifically, their sunscreen.

Lots of folks are taking to social media to complain about getting burned despite being slathered with the company’s sunscreen. Last week, Chicago’s NBC news program ran a story about a mother whose children were burned after use, and the segment came to the conclusion that the decreased levels of zinc oxide in the product might be to blame.

So far, The Honest Company has only responded to the Twitter complaints that we’ve seen with a request for email info to address the matter individually. And in the NBC segment, there’s a statement affirming the effectiveness of the product when used as directed.

Now would be a good time for the company to say something more specifically about these incidents-what steps the company is taking to get to the bottom of any problems that may exist with the product, any changes that will be made to the formula if necessary, or any additional precautions that customers using these natural products should take. People want to use products that bill themselves as heathier, better for them and the environment. If there are issues that arise, an honest discussion is necessary.
