Instagram: Here’s How to Save a Post to a Collection

Organize content for later viewing

When you save another user’s post on Instagram, it will go into a private Saved area on your profile that others can’t see. Did you know that you can save posts to specific collections to keep your saved content organized? Our guide will show you how to save a post to a new collection.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Instagram application on iOS.

Step 1: Tap the banner flag under the bottom-right corner of the post you wish to save.

Step 2: Tap “Save to collection” in the bottom-left corner of the post. Note: This text will only remain visible for a short time. If it disappears, tap the banner flag again to unsave the post, and then tap the banner flag once more to re-save it and cause the text to reappear.

Step 3: Type the name for your new collection. Note: If you’ve previously created a collection, you’ll see a different menu, which shows your existing collections (see the second screenshot below). In this situation, if you want to create a new collection, tap the plus sign in the top-right corner of the menu. For this guide, we’re assuming you’ve never created a collection before.

Step 4: Tap “Done.”

Once you’ve created a collection, you can view it later on by tapping your profile picture in the bottom-right corner of the screen, tapping the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner of the screen, and tapping “Saved.”
