HauteLook Brings Online Sample Sales To Facebook

Forget waking up early and standing in long lines – now you can score name brand labels on a budget just by logging onto Facebook.

HauteLook, an online private sale website company with more than three million members announced Monday it will be bringing its online sample sales to Facebook.

The company sells brand name clothing for women, men and children as well as home furnishings and travel packages.

In the past, you had to register for HauteLook to receive daily emails about “flash sales.”

Starting tomorrow, fans who “like” HauteLook’s Facebook fan page can browse sales ranging from 50 to 70 percent off a new “shop” tab, or view a sale on their homepage by clicking on a post from HauteLook.

Of course, after making a purchase you can then share it on your wall, which will advertise your purchase to anyone in your social network.

This “in-stream” shopping is possible with the help of Minneapolis-based startup Alvenda, who helped HauteLook launch the social commerce platform in an effort to ‘get out of the inbox.’

This new feature makes sense as an app because you don’t have to leave Facebook to complete the transaction. You can “place order” right from the custom tab, which is a far better solution than being directed to the website.

The first sale will be from the body beauty line Carol’s Daughter. We can already see that tab on their Facebook page, but can’t get started shopping until tomorrow. Diane von Furstenberg will be featured on December 7, and BSBG on December 14.
