Google Maps Adds Property Listings Down Under

Google Maps teamed up with the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia and homehound.com.au to link users directly to property listings, and the service will be rolled out in the United States, Silicon Alley Insider reported.

Google told Silicon Alley Insider it launched the service after its research showed that more people are using the Web to search for listings, adding that the number of real estate-related queries on Google soared 35% this year.

The service in the United States will feature free property listings by real estate agents and publishers, which will upload their listings into Google’s database, according to Silicon Alley Insider.
