Google Loses Its 'Social Force'

Google developer advocate Kevin Marks is leaving the company, he announced on his blog Monday. TechCrunch referred to Marks as “a social force within Google and one of the main drivers behind its recent social efforts.”

Among initiatives Marks worked on at Google: orkut, Google Profiles, OpenSocial, the Social Graph API, OAuth, OpenID and MicroFormats.

“I’ll still be working on web standards through the groups above, the Open Web Foundation, the Open Rights Group, and more,” Marks said on his blog.
