Google Chases Baidu.com in China

If Google is afraid of China’s search engine Baidu.com, they’re certainly not showing it. The other day, Baidu.com launched a mobile search WAP site to bring their engine to over half a billion subscribers in China.

Now Google is following up with its own announcement; MocoNews reports that Google has launched an SMS-based mobile phone search service there. “Users send keywords vis SMS to receive information on stocks, weather, train times, foreign currency rates and language translation,” according to the report.
