Google implemented some user-requested tweaks into its goo.gl URL shortener, including the ability to copy shortened URLs into the clipboard, the option of removing items from the dashboard, and spam reporting.

Google implemented some user-requested tweaks into its goo.gl URL shortener, including the ability to copy shortened URLs into the clipboard, the option of removing items from the dashboard, and spam reporting.

URL shorteners reduce the number of characters in long Internet addresses, which is especially helpful for Twitter, given its 140-character limit. For example, after being processed by goo.gl, https://www.adweek.com/socialtimes/strange-bedfellows-critically-acclaimed-films-and-stickers_b57569 becomes http://goo.gl/ynqoP.
