Giving Back This Thanksgiving Is Easy – Thanks To Twitter

As you give thanks this week and in the weeks that follow, you may feel the holiday spirit take over and your thoughts may turn to helping others.

And if so, Twitter offers lots of resources to help you track down worthy causes.

Twitter is a great tool for discovering more ways to give back – and its blog post today highlights just a few of the accounts you can find with a little digging. There are regional food banks and volunteer organizations tweeting, of course:

And as part of our Pay It Forward Friday series, we’ve been highlighting Twitter accounts here that are focused on doing good. These folks are certainly worthy of your attention, if you want to check them out.

For example, maybe you want to buy some great coffee as a gift? The purchase will benefit the world’s poorest villages. Or you could show support for students battling bullies.

Your contribution to society could be as simple as sharing information about a distress line for Marines to helping put an end to slavery.

Do you know of any worthy causes (with Twitter accounts) that you would add to this list?
