Florida Woman Invents Prancercising, Claims It’s a More Effective Form of Horse Exercise Than Gangnam Style

Prancercising is like a meditative, vegetarian Gangnam Style with a lot more Bronies and a wee bit of ankle weights. It's an exercise routine, a diet, and obviously a state of being. It's ideal for those who like to use "imagery to imagine ourselves as a beautiful animal that’s a symbol of beauty, strength and endurance while we’re exercising in order to free our minds of any self image that may be less appealing. . . Striving to be the best “ME” you can be!!" If that's you, read on.

How does one obtain this glorious trot? According to the video description, the movement is a springy, rhythmic way of moving forward, similar to a horse’s gait and is ideally induced by elation.”

The exercise, its accompanying book, and amazing website is the creation of Floridian Joanna Rohback. Somehow in the obscure and weird corners of You Tube, Rohback managed to hide her Prancercising exercise routine for over five long months until the internet catapulted her into over a million views within a day. What’s more impressive is that Rohback invented the dance in 1989! Her original test videos, Funky Punky Prancercise, featured Motown music and her own “rhyme rap.”

Put some glide in your stride

Some dip in your hip

There ain’t no place that ugly fat is gonna stick.

Rohback’s story of internet stardom is equally as impressive as her exercise regimen. She managed to overcome personal health ordeals to earn her bachelor’s degree in Health Services from Florida Atlantic University. After being dealt refusals from publishers, she’s managed to work towards her dream of publishing her horse dance routines by working odd jobs along with a four-year stint as a state social worker.

Now thanks to You Tube and the internet, Rohback can share her work with the masses. And the famous horse-dance Gangnam Style? Here’s what she has to say:

What it almost does is imitate someone screwing someone. At best, it is someone riding a horse. I’m against riding a horse; I’d rather move alongside a horse and not exert my will on another creature.

If you are a big fan of Rohback and Prancercise – head over to Amazon where you can get your own copy of Prancercise: The Art of Physical and Spiritual Excellence. The reviews alone are worth the visit.

Did I mention she likes feral cats? Ironically, She’s never trotted, pranced, or galloped next to a real horse, so maybe if she gets enough sales from her internet success, she will be able to fulfill her dream.

Also, if you doubt Rohback’s internet popularity, there’s already parody video aptly titled Unicorn Prancercising – Archie McPhee. That’s basically the internet in a nutshell.
