LoopTransportationBus650Facebook’s shuttle-bus drivers voted this past weekend to ratify a new contract negotiated between contractor Loop Transportation and Teamsters Local 853, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The contract would provide the drivers with better pay and benefits, as well as address their biggest issue in driving for Facebook and other Silicon Valley tech companies: split-shift scheduling to accommodate workers’ commutes during the morning and evening rush hours.

Loop Transportation CEO Jeff Leonoudakis told the Journal the contract still “has to be signed off by other people,” adding that it would now go to Facebook for approval.

According to the Journal, drivers for fellow Silicon Valley tech companies Apple, Yahoo, eBay, Genentech and Zynga — many of whom work for Compass Transportation — are scheduled to vote on Teamsters representation later this month, and many attended Saturday’s vote.
