Playing Santa Claus and having trouble deciding what to fill the stockings with? Christmas gift recommendation engine Chrift can help you find the answers by analyzing social data from Facebook for your friends and family.

Chrift said it works by gathering social data from users’ Facebook friends and “doing some state-of-the-art David-Blaine-like magic on the back end,” coming up with personalized Christmas gift recommendations based on the results.

The suggestions it comes up with are available from major online retailers that deliver to the users’ area.

The web app can be used in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, and China, and it is available in those countries’ native languages.

Michael Lee Johnson developed Chrift with Thomas Pongrac, and said the app was developed in 30 days “from concept to completion.” All translations were crowdsourced.
