Demotix Distributes Picture of Gates Arrest
When Prof. Henry Louis Gates Jr., head of Harvard University’s WEB DuBois Institute for African and American Studies, was arrested in front of his Cambridge, Mass., house July 16 for alleged disorderly conduct, a citizen journalist captured the image, and Demotix was able to distribute it to several major news sources.
The photo of the arrest of Gates was picked up by CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, the Boston Herald, the New York Daily News, the New York Post and the Guardian.
