DeNA and Wizards of the Coast have announced the launch of Arena at War on iOS devices. The game was first announced in May as the first ever free-to-play Dungeons & Dragons mobile title. In it, players are sent on a journey through the Forgotten Realms, as they join friends to defeat enemies and collect loot.

The storyline sees players taking on the role of a proven champion, sent to fight for the Gods of good during the Sundering.

Arena of War offers turn-based, 3D, RPG gameplay, as players invite friends to join their questing party, and then complete quests by defeating enemies and completing other challenges. By joining together, these players are able to take on tougher bosses, with each character class having an advantage in certain circumstances.

Arenas are dynamic, offering traps that can either hurt the player, or be strategically used by the player to damage their enemies.

“Arena of War is an epic and imaginative experience and we could not be more honored to be partnering with Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro to launch the first ever free-to-play mobile Dungeons & Dragons game,” said Tiburcio De la Carcova, Head of DeNA’s Vancouver and Santiago studios, in a company statement. “Our development team worked side-by-side with Wizards of the Coast to build a game both long-time fans of the leading RPG franchise and action-adventure game players new to the brand will enjoy playing.”

Arena of War is now available to download for free on iOS devices, with an Android release coming later. Check back soon to follow the game on AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
