Amazon Adds Three More Languages to DTP

Late last week Amazon announced support for three new languages–Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian–on its Digital Publishing Platform (DTP). Remember than in mid-January, Amazon announced support for German and French, in addition to English.

The DTP is Amazon’s self-service portal for Kindle books. Authors, and publishers, can use the DTP to upload their content to the Kindle store, to set prices, and to monitor sales.

Tangentially, it’s interesting to notice that on the DTP homepage, Amazon’s icon for its explanation of “What Is Amazon Kindle” is an cartoon image of the first generation Kindle–that old blocky one–not the current model, the Kindle 2.
