Philadelphia Launched a Restaurant Where You Order Feelings, Not Food

The brand and agency Gut Miami presented diners with the Feeladelphia experience

When thinking of our favorite foods, we tend to emphasize how they taste, but a good meal is a sensory experience that plays out across all the senses. As important as the sight, sounds and smell of food can be, there is also an emotional connection that often goes unrecognized when sitting down at the dinner table.

Tapping into the emotional side of food, Philadelphia Cream Cheese opened the first-of-its-kind restaurant experience, Feeladelphia. Created in partnership with Gut Miami, this initiative leaned into customer testimonials sharing the many feelings that can come from eating the perfect treat.

The campaign was accompanied by a series of images that emphasized the visual aspect of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, one showing a napkin on a plate with a distinctly cream cheese-style texture. Another featured the tagline, “A restaurant where you don’t order food. You order feelings.”

Sense and sensitivity

Continuing the brand’s “You Don’t Just Taste It. You Feel It” platform, Feeladelphia featured a curated cream cheese-infused menu by chefs Jeremiah Stone and Fabián Von Hauske Valtierra, head chefs and owners of Michelin-starred Contra and Wildair. Prior advertisements include the “Chair,” “Rug” and “Bath” spots, which highlighted the way that our senses are stimulated by food—in this case by Philadelphia Cream Cheese.

“For us, feelings and food are always connected, so when the team at Philadelphia presented this concept, we felt inspired to create a bespoke menu based on real feelings versus specific ingredients,” said Von Hauske Valtierra in a statement made prior to the activation.

“The dishes all feature Philadelphia Cream Cheese and allow guests to explore in an entirely new way,” added Chef Jeremiah Stone.

Feeladelphia opened in New York at Studio 525 and accepted reservations through OpenTable. Seats were $35 per person with all proceeds donated to charity.
