Walmart's App Gets an Augmented Reality Upgrade

The new helps personalize the shopping experience, according to the retailer

Walmart is releasing new augmented reality features on its app to help customers shop both at home and in-store.

As the name implies, View in Your Space allows shoppers to see furniture and décor in their homes. The feature will be available on the iOS app for 300 items “by early July.” Walmart has plans to expand to Android and mobile web, but did not share a timeline.

The retailer also plans to expand the feature to include back-to-college products “over the coming months.”

To use it, customers click the View in Your Space banner on AR-enabled items to connect their cameras and see said products in 3D.
