Verizon is expanding its in-stadium 5G partnerships through new deals with the National Hockey League and 15 more National Basketball Association teams this week.

The carrier will use the NHL partnership to test new ways of supplementing the live viewing experience for hockey fans with features like video highlights and real-time stats overlaid in augmented reality. The two partnerships bring the total number of arenas and stadiums with which Verizon has similar exclusive 5G partnerships to more than 60.
