M&M’s Put Danny DeVito in a Pool of Chocolate to Tease Its 30-Second Super Bowl Spot

Actor will star in the brand's first Big Game ad in three years

Danny DeVito will star in M&M’s 30-second Super Bowl spot. The brand revealed its Big Game ad star with a 15-second and a six-second teaser in which DeVito is seen nearly submerged in what looks like a chocolate pool.

M&M’s is returning to the game after three years away. BBDO in New York is behind the creative for both teasers as well as the 30-second Super Bowl ad.

“Much like M&M’s, Danny DeVito knows how to entertain,” said Allison Miazga-Bedrick, brand director for M&M’s, in a statement. “We felt that Danny brought the perfect amount of humor needed for this year’s Super Bowl spot, and we know our fans will be delighted to see how Danny interacts with some of our beloved spokescandies.”

“When M&M’S approached me about starring in their Super Bowl commercial, I quickly jumped on the opportunity to partner with such an iconic brand,” DeVito said in a statement. “Plus, who can resist seeing me in a giant pool of chocolate?!”

The 15-second teaser will also air on NBC during a Super Bowl LII pregame show.
