Hybrid work may be here to stay, but people are ready to say goodbye to their home offices and sofas to see the world again.

According to a survey by consumer insights firm GlobalWebIndex, travel intent for 2022 is up across every category surveyed, with road trips seeing the largest bump at 18%—perhaps because people discovered the national parks and local sights within driving distance during the pandemic.

“An early look at our data shows that 2022 will be the year to welcome back the vacation,” said Doug Gorman, trends analyst at GWI.
