When it comes to influencers, it’s easy to assume everyone gets the same brand deals and payment once they reach a certain amount of followers. Unfortunately, this is not the case, especially for women of color and specifically Black women. Influencer agency Black Girl Digital is here to fix that.

Founded in 2016 by LaToya Shambo, the agency is on a mission to inspire brands to build longterm partnerships with Black female influencers. Not only that, but the agency makes sure they are also paid fairly for the content they are producing.

On this episode of Young Influentials, Shambo joins Adweek digital editor and host Colin Daniels to discuss how Black Girl Digital is creating a solution for wage disparities for women of color in the influencer space and how brands can best work with Black female content creators in a true, authentic way.
