Do You Instagram?

This weekend, The New York Times shines a light on another tool to add to the old digital toolbox.

Instagram is the latest creation meant to make sharing info easier and more compelling. Invented in response to the rise in sophistication of cellphone cameras, the free iPhone app (no word on when it will be available for Blackberry or Android phones) filters your photos to make them look better on Facebook and Twitter.

According to the Times, media organizations, celebrities and brands, particularly those that rely on good visuals, like ABC News, National Geographic, Oscar de la Renta and Kate Spade are using it.

While Flickr has millions more users and photos at this point, the mobile nature of Instagram is what’s got people crowing.
