SocialX650With Facebook insisting that it will maintain its real-name policy, technology outfit Virtual Artifacts came up with a solution that combines the benefits of Facebook pages with the freedom of anonymity — its Social X application.

Virtual Artifacts also announced the launch of Social X Community CRM, a companion customer-relationship-management tool for brands to deploy the app on their pages and communicate with users. The company said employees and advocates can use Social X to determine how they will appear within the app’s environment.

Virtual Artifacts said in a release introducing Social X:

Recognizing the fact that people are hesitant to share their views online, Virtual Artifacts created Social X to enable users to openly express themselves on their own terms, while still preserving their privacy. Through the free Social X app — which is available on Facebook and as a responsive app — individuals can use personal, professional and even anonymous identities to share their passions and connect with like-minded people in communities linked to existing Facebook pages.

Founder and CEO Jean Dobey added:

This ground-breaking app will revolutionize the way people express themselves online by giving them the security of knowing they can freely share their views without the risk of what they say being used against them or exploited by others. We created Social X to give people something existing communication tools had never offered them: the confidence to share openly online on their own terms.

We also wanted to offer brands a tool to efficiently engage their hard-core fans and potential customers. With our Social X Community CRM tool, companies can now control who represents them and also humanize their brand by leveraging their employees’ and advocates’ social media presence, while maximizing and increasing audience interaction with their website visitors and social media fan base. We will be offering additional Social X features aimed at brands in the near future, including the option to create private enterprise social networks for employees to collaborate and share experiences and knowledge.
