HTC May Debut Two Facebook Phones

HTC might debut two Facebook-branded phones, rather than just one, and announce them at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month, according to City A.M.
The phones would have the design and color scheme associated with Facebook’s brand, prominently show the news feed and messages from the social network on the home screen and incorporate friends’ contact information saved on profiles.

The Facebook-branded phones will carry upgraded versions of the Android operating system developed by Google, which some call a rival of the social network. These devices are part of the social network’s larger strategy to focus on mobile devices in 2011.

It remains unclear which mobile carriers will first provide service via the phones, and in which countries they will become available. While we haven’t seen nor heard any official clarification about how the two HTC models will differ, one could have a touchscreen and the other a keypad.

What do you expect to see on HTC’s Facebook-branded smartphones? Does social media branding make you want to buy a device more?
