It’s been two years since Kanon Tipton first went viral for preaching to a congregation at the young age of 21 months. As the “World’s Youngest Preacher”, Kannon has racked up more than 4 million views and this week he’s back! Now 4 years old, Kanon is going viral again with a new video called ‘Baby Preacher Preaches Again!’
The video has been on YouTube since March of this year, but it just went viral this week, breaking the 200,000-view mark this morning. If you haven’t seen the original baby preacher video you can check it out below, followed by the new video of 4-year old Kanon preaching.
Kanon and his parents appeared on NBC’s The Today Show earlier this week. They report that he will be the subject of a National Geographic special later this year. Kanon’s dad explained how the viral hit happened. “When Kanon did what he did that night, preaching, my wife started videoing. We put it on YouTube, called a few of our friends and said, ‘Look what Kanon did’, and it just got over 4 million hits! It absolutely shocked us. It was amazing—it was all an accident, but thankfully we did capture it on video.”
According to Kanon’s parents, the 4-year old doesn’t preach on cue, but only when the spirit inspires him. Unlike the original preaching video, Kanon’s preaching now actually has a message and you can understand what he’s saying, though there is some debate about whether he is truly inspired or just mimicking.
