Public-Beta Release for MySpace for Outlook

MySpace co-president Mike Jones announced the public-beta release of plug-in MySpace for Outlook in a post on the MySpace Blog.

The plug-in is an integration with Microsoft’s Outlook Social Connector, and it offers features including the ability to create a special MySpace contact list, a People Pane showing friend activity and status updates, the ability to access hyperlinks in activity updates, one-click access to profiles, and the ability to email MySpace friends from Outlook.

Jones wrote:

With over 400 million active users, Microsoft’s Outlook email and calendar client is a mainstay in the modern workplace. And today, I’m excited to share that after a dedicated effort from our development team, we’re releasing our very own public beta of MySpace for Outlook, a new plug-in that enables you to view MySpace user activity and contact information within Microsoft Outlook.

It’s an exciting approach to socializing email and continues to build on our goal of encouraging MySpace users to discover, share, and showcase content on and off the site.
