Hollywood Reporter to Launch Mobile Box Office
The Hollywood Reporter reports that on Sunday they plan to launch THR Mobile Box Office, a new service that delivers first-to-market weekend box office estimates directly to cell phones and other mobile devices via an SMS alert.
Here’s how it works: Through THR Mobile Box Office, the publication will push weekend grosses out via an SMS text alert. The message will feature the top five movie results for that weekend. Anyone interested can sign up for the alert by texting “THR” to 847269 (or THRBOX); after doing so, they’ll receive new numbers every Sunday monring.
