It’s not every day that you meet a chief marketing officer whose career journey began in a science lab. But that’s the unconventional path Katie Williams followed to Haleon.

With a background in biology, Williams initially put her scientific acumen to work at Procter & Gamble. Following roles at Kraft Foods and Mondelez International, she joined Haleon as a founding member. She now oversees a $5 billion U.S. portfolio featuring iconic brands such as Tums and Advil for the innovative consumer health company.

As a health marketer, Williams believes in the potent blend of deep human understanding and faith in science.

“Most marketers love to dive deep into insight and connect with consumers,” she said. “Bringing trusted science to life in a way that also connects with consumers is the differentiating factor.”
