Earlier this year, state lawmakers filed nearly 300 pieces of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, many of which targeted transgender youth. To raise awareness of what could happen to the people these laws would impact, LGBTQ+ advocacy organization GLAAD turned to advertising to try and put a face to the issue.
GLAAD set out to find a family in a state where these laws are being proposed. In this case, the organization looked to Texas—a red state that has enacted draconian laws but has a vigorous progressive streak in cities like Austin and Houston.
