TikTok to Test Improved Reporting, Better Controls to Keep Women Safe on Its Platform

TikTok has been collaborating with the World Wide Web Foundation throughout the past year on better understanding the experiences women have online and ways to make them feel safer.

Director of policy for TikTok U.S. Tara Wadhwa said in a blog post Thursday that the video creation platform committed to address two priorities along these fronts: improved reporting systems and more control over online experiences.

TikTok will begin developing and testing several changes to its platform over the coming months to meet those commitments.

Wadhwa wrote, “At TikTok, we work around the clock to help ensure that our platform is a safe, positive space for self-expression.
