Chatroulette Funny Piano Improv #1
A series of Chatroulette piano improv videos uploaded by a mysterious piano player who calls himself Merton took YouTube by storm when they were added to the site at the end of March. Merton, who many people believed to be singer-songwriter Ben Folds, plays the piano and sings while improvising funny lyrics about the Chatrouletters he gets connected with. Although it turns out that Merton is not actually Ben Folds, he has become something of a Chatroulette and YouTube celebrity, with over 3 million views on his first video in the last month.
Ben Folds’ Chatroulette Piano Ode to Merton
Ben Folds took the torch from Merton and ran with it. He logged on to Chatroulette in front of two thousand people at a concert in Charlotte, North Carolina and paid homage to Merton, singing about the people that came up on the screen. The best is the guy on the toilet at 3:30 who seems to be oblivious to the fact that a huge crowd of people can see him “doing his business.”
Chatroulette Music Video
Israeli band Hovevey Zion really hit the mark with the Chatroulette music video for their song “Tagidi Ma”. The video features two hot girls rallying the Chatroulette community into having one big dance party. There’s good music, wild dancing, and hot girls stripping – the perfect makings for a viral music video and a really creative use of Chatroulette.
Lady Gaga Chatroulette Telephone Parody
A group of YouTube vloggers collaborated to make a music video parody of Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” all about Chatroulette. The video, which features WhatTheBuck, SuperMac18, KateSketch, and OlgaKay, among others, pokes fun at all the people who enjoy getting naked on Chatroulette. It has had over 90,000 views since it was uploaded two days ago.
The Dead Guy on Chat Roulette
One of the most popular things to do on Chatroulette is mess with other people. One user hung a pair of fake, dangling legs from the ceiling to look like someone had hung himself in a video that has gotten nearly 900,000 views in the last week. While I certainly don’t condone doing things like this, the reactions from Chatrouletters seeing the “hang man” are priceless. Some are sure it’s a joke and break out laughing, while others aren’t quite sure what to think.
