DOmedia Expands Its Web Marketplace

Improved site seeks to facilitate the planning and buying of the out-of-home and alternative media spaces

Aug 7, 2008

NEW YORK DOmedia, an online resource directory for out-of-home and alternative advertising media, has launched an expanded and enhanced online marketplace. The improved site includes new listings, a fresh interface and features to smooth the planning and buying of the fragmented out-of-home and alternative media space.

The reboot follows the company's recent acquisitions of two other out-of-home directories: the Buyers Guide to Outdoor Advertising and Out of Home Connect. Those deals brought additional media properties to the DOmedia database and facilitated the broader site revamp.

Since its beta launch last year, the database has grown to include more than 25,000 out-of-home media listings, including regional and national providers such as Clear Channel Outdoor and CBS Outdoor, for a wide range of categories from wallscapes and digital networks to skywriting.

Along with a new interface, DOmedia.com features a campaign management tool allowing buyers to save, share and organize listings. An advanced search option includes the ability to scan by market, category and venue. Buyers can also quickly view demographic information for targeted areas.

"By providing the best experience for buyers on DOmedia.com when they are searching and organizing alternative media campaigns, sellers of these assets will easily connect with those interested in their media properties," said Jeff Lamb, who was named president of DOmedia last month.

Digital Billboards Safe, Another Study Says

November 20, 2009

In case critics didn’t notice the first two studies maintaining that digital billboards are “safety neutral,” a third survey was released this week. Conducted by Tantala Associates, this study is the largest survey of digital-billboard traffic safety yet conducted. Tantala analyzed eight years of traffic accident data -- more than 60,000 accident reports from the Ohio Department of Transportation -- for the same seven digital billboards it examined in a 2007 study.
