R/GA ECD Heads to BBH

Rasmussen, a key player on the Nike account, takes a new post at N.Y. shop

NEW YORK Bartle Bogle Hegarty here has named Robert Rasmussen executive creative director of innovation, a new position at the Publicis Groupe-backed agency. Rasmussen was most recently ecd at IPG'S R/GA on Nike.

"Rob's position here at BBH is a testament to the central role interactive plays across all BBH New York accounts," said Kevin Roddy, agency CCO, in a statement. "He is a proven talent in his own right, a great creative director and he fits perfectly with BBH New York's culture."

Rasmussen joined R/GA in July 2007 and led creative on the shop's output for Nike+, NikeID, Nike Football, Nike Basketball, Nike Running and Nike Women.

"When I started to explore BBH's recent work, I was amazed," said Rasmussen. "They are a tight team with incredible insight and vision. When I met them, I immediately thought, 'I want to be a part of that!'"

Prior to joining R/GA, Rasmussen was cd on Jet Blue at JWT in New York. An art director by training, he began his career at Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Ore., in 1994 and moved to the agency's New York office a decade later. He worked on Nike, Coke, ESPN and Brand Jordan and is credited with the breakthrough Beta-7 campaign for Sega's ESPN NFL Football. The Beta-7 push mixed blogs, viral video and traditional media.
