Japanese Screening Of 'Castle In The Sky' Once Again Sets New Tweets-Per-Second Record: 143,199
What is up with Castle In The Sky?
Hayao Miyazaki’s Japanese anime film, originally released in 1986 and recently screened on Saturday, August 3, has set another tweets-per-second (TPS) record: 143,199.
The peak moment occurred on August 2 at 7:21:50 PDT; August 3 at 11:21:50 JST.
In comparison, Twitter normally nets more than 500 million tweets a day, or 5,700 tweets a second on average. So this spike was around 25 times greater than Twitter’s “steady state.”
In a true sign of Twitter’s current strength, the site held perfectly stable throughout the peak, with no users experiencing blips of outage.
