Hip-hop is the fastest-growing of the top three music genres on YouTube in the U.S., topping pop and rock, and hip-hop artists accounted for all 10 spots on the Google-owned video site’s list of the 10 most-viewed artists in the U.S. for 2020. With that in mind, YouTube revealed some updates on the advertising front Tuesday.
“The year 2020 was hard, but that challenge didn’t stop the music, and it didn’t stop fans from connecting and engaging with artists on YouTube, particularly in hip-hop,” YouTube director of Black music and culture Tuma Basa wrote in a blog post Tuesday.
