WhatsApp introduced two updates to its shopping features this week: Catalogs can now be managed via the web and desktop, and businesses can now hide items that are unavailable.
The Facebook-owned messaging application said there are over 8 million business catalogs on its platform globally, and enabling people to manage them on screens bigger than those on their smartphones will make it easier for them to add new items and services.
WhatsApp added that it expects this new feature to be especially helpful to businesses with large inventories, such as clothing stores and restaurants.
