The annual Best of Beauty issue from Allure gained a touch of augmented reality this year, courtesy of Snap Inc.
Snap created Allure Lip, Cheek and Eye lenses for 19 winning products, available via the Allure profile, enabling Snapchatters to virtually try on the year’s best blush, crayon, eyeliner, gloss, lip liner, mascara, stain and other products.
Snap global head of fashion and beauty Rajni Jacques said in a blog post, “From illuminating blushes to brilliant lip colors, Snapchat’s AR lenses make shopping for new beauty personal, accessible and fun. We’re thrilled to collaborate with Allure to bring the Best of Beauty to Snapchatters everywhere.”
Allure editor in chief Jessica Cruel added, “Every year, we explore the best ways to make Best of Beauty more interactive and accessible to our audiences, which is why we’re so excited to integrate Snap’s AR technology. This tool makes it easy for our readers to experience award-winning makeup products just using their phones.”
