Twitter users no longer have to access other users’ profiles to determine whether or not their accounts are verified.
The social network confirmed to Benjamin Mullin of Poynter earlier this week that tweets from verified accounts will now include the checkmark within users’ timelines.
Mullin believes the move by Twitter will benefit journalists in the wake of the controversy over fake news on Facebook and other social networks.
