Skype for Mac 5.0 Beta: Bad Interface Influenced by iPad Success?

The iPad’s success is apparently influencing design beyond the tablet form factor. Apple itself announced that the next version of Mac OS X (10.7 codenamed “Lion”) will have a full-screen app view that looks and feels like an iPad app experience. Skype seems to have a similar design goal as evidenced in their new SKype for Mac 5.0 Beta.
