MySpace Music Disables Auto-Streaming of Profile Songs
If you’ve recently clicked on your 15-year-old, gothic-dressing daughter’s MySpace profile and realized you were missing the typical notes of angst from My Chemical Romance, there’s a reason for the lack of sound: MySpace Music disabled auto-streaming of profile songs, with a source telling TechCrunch the move will save it as much as $10 million in monthly streaming fees.
Users can still opt in to auto-play songs, according to TechCrunch, which added that the automatically streamed music totaled some 1 billion streams per month.
