Master of its domain? Not yet: Porn loses another online battle

The Wall Street Journal has just filed a new story for tomorrow’s paper, updating its piece today about the just-failed stuggle for the .xxx domain name.

The thrust of it?

“The Icann [Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers] vote likely will be seen by critics as evidence of the influence commerce has over the Internet, experts said. “Dot-xxx isn’t the best idea in the world,” said Jonathan Zittrain, a professor of Internet governance at Oxford University.
