Leatherbound App Allows Comparison Shopping For eBooks

While many people that read eBooks are tied to the retailer that makes their device, the growth of eBook store apps is evening the playing field in terms of shopping. For example, if you have an iPhone or an Android phone, you might use Amazon’s Kindle app or B&N’s Nook app. Now, there is a new app that lets you shop across eBook stores and compare prices.

Leatherbound lets users look for titles and comparison shop across eBook retailers based on price and availability. It includes a link to eBook stores, so that you can click through to purchase.

Read Write Web has more: “Leatherbound was created this weekend as part of the Rails Rumble, a programming competition that gives teams 48 hours to build a web app in Ruby on Rails. Team Leatherbound is comprised of Andrew Dumont, Nathan Carnes, Adrian Pike, and Amiel Martin. Dumont, who is also the Director of Business Development at Seesmic, says that the team has plans down the road to add movies and music to the apps’ search capabilities.”
