Facebook Makes It Possible To Like Comments

Not only can users vote on how valuable a status update is through the “Like” button, but now users can also signify their support of comments in general through a new “Like” button. While it may appear relatively basic on the surface, having a measure of the importance of comments as well as status updates in general helps Facebook determine what to place within your feed and can help improve the company’s search feature in the future.

For the time being “Like” is just being added to comments, but Facebook also recently rolled out their “Like” button for the web, which most recently has been having problems of its own. After taking the “Like” functionality from FriendFeed, the company has branded the “Like” button as a core Facebook feature. Now that it functions as an alternative to the link within the social graph, it’s important that Facebook add “Like” to pretty much any object on the web.
