Facebook Acquires Oculus Rift for $2 Billion
Virtual reality headset makers, Oculus Rift have been purchased by Facebook for approximately $2 billion in cash and Facebook stocks. Oculus Rift is primarily used by gamers for immersive virtual reality experiences. The headset was originally funded on Kickstarter for over $2.4 million by 9,522 backers, some of whom are not the least happy about the acquisition. The negative comments on Kickstarter are getting heated:
Facebook, on the other hand is optimistic about the new purchase.
