In fact, we’ll be unveiling our first infographic at the show. It’s chock-full of direct mail and email numbers that may surprise you, along with marketing trends that every company in the mailstream or inboxes should be tracking.

Here’s a sneak peak at a couple of those numbers:

  • 74,000 “Controls” (successful repeated mailings) featured in WMW
  • 313,000 emails that have been repeated

And some of those trends:

  • Big Shifts in Email Send Times: While the afternoon stayed the same from 2011 to 2012, the morning was a different story. Now 50 percent of marketing email is sent from 6am to noon.
  • Freemiums Are Back: Freemiums are those little free gifts inside the direct mail piece, and rising postal rates seemingly killed this tactic. But in 2013, it’s sprung back to life. 14 percent more direct mail uses a freemium in 2013 compared to 2011 and 2012.
