Do People Really Want to Print from an iPad?

Mobile printing is a funny little feature. A lot of people say they want this feature for whatever mobile platform they are using. Yet, except for printing out receipts from a point of sale (POS) system, there doesn’t seem to be much of a use case. For example, there used to be 3rd party apps for Windows Mobile that let Pocket PCs print using infrared transmissions to printers with infrared receivers. I even bought a portable Canon printer that could do this. However, IR ports disappeared from Pocket PCs as Bluetooth and WiFi gained acceptance. And, no one seems to have missed the ability to print from Pocket PCs in the years since this feature disappeared.
