Colorless Bureaus and Newsrooms

Richard Prince‘s Journal-isms column looks at the lack of color on Washingtonian’s quadrennial list of the city’s “50 Best & Most Influential Journalists.”

Prince chides the list, which I wrote, for only including two journalists of color–Mike Wilbon and Gene Robinson, both of the Post–and not including several other high-profile minority reporters like Colbert I. King or Michele Norris. (Gwen Ifill makes the magazine’s sidebar on the city’s top explainers, and Rajiv Chandrasekaran made the list of rising stars.
