POLITICO’s Dylan Byers reports that Bloomberg’s Jeanne Cummings has been named deputy managing editor. In this role she’ll manage communications between Washington and New York, where Bloomberg’s new daily politics show with Mark Halperin and John Heilemann – slated to launch in October – will be produced.

“The new role gives Cummings the lead Washington role in Bloomberg’s flagship politics site heading into the 2014 midterms and 2016 presidential election, though she will continue to report to the D.C. management,” wrote Byers of Cummings promotion from Bloomberg News deputy editor.
